2026 Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degrees (Embassy Track)
※ Due to the fire incident at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) in Korea, online submission is currently unavailable. In accordance with the guidelines of the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), applicants must carefully review this Embassy announcement and follow the designated procedure.
※ Even applicants who have already submitted applications online for the 2026 GKS-U must read this announcement and reapply.
1.Submission Method:
- ■Drop your application and attachment at Korean Embassy (1st floor, Misha tower, Westlands road, Nairobi)
– You can’t submit documents by e-mail, please visit the embassy.
- ■Attached ‘2026 GKS UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS INFORMATION FORM’ should be sent by email to “[email protected]” within 48 hours after submitting the applications.
2. Number of Quota for the Program: One (1) for GKS (General), One (1) for R-GKS
* GKS(General) – You can choose up to 3 universities Either 1 from Type A and 2 from Type B or vice versa.
* R-GKS – You can only choose 2 universities from Type B
3. Schedule of Application and Selection Process
Application Period: 6th OCT (Mon) – 17th OCT (Fri), 2025, From 09:00- 16:00 (Kenyan Time)
※ Strict adherence to the application period is required.
- ■9th Oct is Korean Public holiday, 10th Oct is Kenya Pupblic holday. (Embassy to be closed)
- ■Announcement of Selected Candidate for Interview: by 22nd OCT (Wed)
- ■Interview date to be announced *Only shortlisted applicants will be notified.
- ■Announcement of the Successful Candidate result at Embassy side : by 27th OCT (Mon)
4. Eligibility
– Nationality: Kenyan (Neither of the parents should have the Korean nationality.)
– Age: Under 25years of age (Born after 2001.3.1)
– Grades: For Academic requirements, kindly refer to the guideline
– Applicants who are expected to graduate by December 31st, 2025 can also apply for the program with a certificate of expected graduation
