Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Economics of Nature Unit, the Programme Management Officer will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes and projects aligned with UNEP’s environmental and sustainable development mandate. The role contributes to strengthening evidence-based policy, particularly on the economic dimensions of biodiversity, land use, and food systems transformation.
Key responsibilities include coordinating project activities, tracking progress against approved work plans, preparing technical and progress reports, supporting partnerships with international and national stakeholders, and contributing to analytical work that demonstrates the economic value of nature. The Officer will also assist in resource planning, risk management, and ensuring compliance with UNEP and UN programme management standards.
The position requires close collaboration with internal UNEP teams, government counterparts, development partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of project outcomes and alignment with UNEP’s strategic objectives.
