As part of its continued investment in digital transformation and client engagement, KPMG East Africa is seeking to recruit a Digital Platforms Associate within the Clients & Markets unit. This role is designed for a technically skilled professional who will support the firm’s digital ecosystem, strengthen governance structures, and contribute to marketing effectiveness through data-driven insights and platform innovation.

Position Summary

KPMG East Africa is currently recruiting a Digital Platforms Associate to support the Clients & Markets function by providing technical oversight of digital platforms, leading improvements, ensuring governance compliance, and enabling integrated marketing initiatives. The role also involves contributing to innovation efforts, generating analytics insights, and supporting strategic projects that reinforce the firm’s online presence.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage digital assets, maintain publishing standards, support marketing automation activities, and translate analytics into actionable recommendations. This position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, the Global Digital Team, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure platforms operate at optimal performance levels while remaining compliant with global standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Website Management and Platform Ownership

The Digital Platforms Associate will be responsible for developing and executing an annual digital platforms strategy that aligns with broader business and marketing objectives. This involves identifying priorities, planning enhancements, and ensuring that platforms support organizational goals.

The role includes taking lead responsibility for managing KPMG East Africa’s websites, microsites, and related digital assets. Oversight will extend to maintaining accuracy, strengthening security protocols, and ensuring optimal performance across platforms.

Serving as the primary contact for platform-related issues is a central component of the role. The Associate will coordinate with the Global Digital Team, internal IT departments, and external vendors to resolve technical challenges and implement improvements efficiently.

Additional responsibilities include leading platform updates, supporting security enhancements, and managing content management system (CMS) feature rollouts. The Associate will also ensure that websites meet high standards of accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility, enabling a consistent experience for users regardless of device or browser.

Routine scanning for site defects and design inconsistencies will be required to maintain professional presentation and usability.

Content Governance and Strategic Publishing

The Digital Platforms Associate will oversee publishing workflows across service lines, markets, and industry sectors. This responsibility includes ensuring that all published materials are accurate, compliant with internal policies, and aligned with global publishing standards.

Supporting the visibility of thought leadership content will be a key expectation. The Associate will optimize formatting, metadata, SEO tags, GEO attributes, and internal link structures to improve discoverability and user engagement.

The role involves uploading and formatting new content in accordance with brand guidelines and established SEO best practices. Maintaining accuracy in taxonomy, ensuring content quality, and structuring pages effectively will be essential to supporting the firm’s digital reputation.

The Associate will also maintain and update landing pages for marketing campaigns and events while building pages that adhere to KPMG design standards and incorporate content as required.

Marketing Automation and Campaign Execution

This position will lead the setup and optimization of automated email journeys, client nurturing workflows, campaign landing pages, and event registration processes. These efforts are intended to improve targeting precision and enhance engagement with key audiences.

The Associate will support segmentation, tagging, and consent management processes to ensure compliance while enabling accurate campaign targeting. Providing performance insights to Markets and Service Line teams will help inform campaign adjustments and improve overall effectiveness.

Responsibilities further include supporting the implementation, configuration, and optimization of marketing automation tools such as Marketo. The role will also involve assisting in the setup of email campaigns, automated workflows, and landing pages using these platforms.

Oversight of CRM and database integrations with marketing automation tools will be necessary to ensure seamless data flow and reliable reporting capabilities.

Digital Analytics, Dashboards, and Insights

Ownership of tracking, measurement, and reporting for websites, including the Top100 Website, intranets, and campaign activities, forms a critical component of the role. The Associate will utilize tools such as Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and global KPMG analytics platforms to generate actionable insights.

Producing detailed monthly dashboards for leadership will be required. These reports will include analysis of engagement trends, traffic patterns, SEO health, conversion metrics, and content performance, accompanied by recommendations for improvement.

The Associate will lead the implementation of new tracking requirements, define events, and introduce reporting enhancements where necessary. Translating analytics findings into optimization strategies for business units and campaign teams will support informed decision-making across the organization.

UX, SEO, and Performance Optimization

Conducting regular user experience (UX) and search engine optimization (SEO) audits will be expected to identify opportunities for improving the client journey across digital platforms.

The Associate will recommend and implement enhancements that strengthen usability while optimizing metadata, page structures, and content to increase organic search visibility and accessibility.

Coordinating A/B testing initiatives will help refine user journeys and improve conversion rates, contributing to stronger marketing outcomes.

Innovation and Digital Capability Growth

The role calls for identifying, piloting, and recommending new digital tools, plugins, and enhancements that promote efficiency and improve user experience.

The Associate will support the adoption of emerging technologies such as AI-driven content tools, chatbots, automation triggers, and heat mapping solutions where applicable. These innovations are intended to strengthen digital delivery and modernize engagement strategies across the region.

Proposing continuous improvement initiatives will be encouraged, with the expectation that the Associate will collaborate closely with the Global Digital Marketing team and other internal stakeholders to roll out new technology tools for the Clients & Markets function.

Governance, Compliance, and Documentation

Maintaining strict adherence to KPMG’s global brand, publishing, accessibility, and data privacy standards is fundamental to this role. The Associate will ensure that all digital activities comply with established governance frameworks.

Responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date documentation covering processes, workflows, escalation paths, and publishing guidelines. This documentation will support operational continuity and promote consistency across teams.

The Associate may also provide training or guidance to internal stakeholders on digital platform best practices, helping to build internal capability and reinforce compliance.

Delivering projects within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) will be required to support operational efficiency and stakeholder confidence.

Academic/Professional Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media / Digital Marketing (with strong technical focus) or Business Information Technology.

Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in website administration, digital publishing, digital platforms management, or marketing technology roles.

Strong experience with CMS platforms (SharePoint, Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, Drupal).

Solid understanding of SEO, UX principles, and web performance optimisation.

Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools (Adobe Campaign, Marketo, HubSpot, or similar).

Proficient with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Search Console) and dashboarding.
