A Toll Attendant is responsible for collecting toll fees from motorists, providing customer assistance, and ensuring smooth and efficient traffic flow at toll plazas. This role requires excellent customer service skills, accuracy in cash handling, and the ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environments at the Nairobi Expressway.
Your Responsibilities
Collect toll payments (cash, credit/debit cards, electronic payments) from drivers.
Issue receipts and provide correct change when necessary.
Verify electronic toll passes and resolve payment discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of transactions and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift.
Provide directions and basic travel information to motorists.
Report equipment malfunctions, traffic incidents, or suspicious activities to supervisors.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the toll booth area.
Required Skills and Experience
- Diploma or above
- Work experience on a similar position preferred;
- Basic IT skills.
- Diploma, degree or equivalent.
Previous experience in customer service, cashiering, or cash handling preferred.
Basic math skills and attention to detail.
Ability to operate computerized toll systems and point-of-sale equipment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and work in various weather conditions.
