Members of the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee are entrusted with high-level responsibilities that contribute to the functioning and effectiveness of intergovernmental relations in Kenya. Eligibility Criteria
For appointment as a Member of the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of Kenya
- Hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya
- Have a distinguished career in their respective field
- Possess at least ten (10) years of post-qualification professional experience
- Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity
Disqualification Criteria
In accordance with Section 11 (6) of the Intergovernmental Relations Act No. 2 of 2012, a person shall not be eligible for appointment if they:
- Are a Member of Parliament or County Assembly
- Are a member of a governing body of a political party
- Are an elected or nominated member of a county government
- Are a member of a Commission established under the Constitution
- Are an undischarged bankrupt
- Have been removed from office for contravening the Constitution or any other law
- Have not met statutory obligations in the conduct of their affairs
