Job Summary

The Corporation Secretary/Head of Legal Services is responsible for providing strategic legal leadership and corporate governance support to the Social Health Authority. The position serves as the principal advisor on legal matters affecting the Authority and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and governance frameworks.

The office holder supports the Board of Directors and management by providing legal guidance, coordinating board affairs, safeguarding the Authority’s legal interests, and ensuring adherence to statutory requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to the Board and management on matters affecting the Authority.
  • Offer strategic direction on legal and regulatory compliance issues.

  • Provide guidance on policy development and legal reforms affecting the Authority.
  • Oversee management of legal services and related administrative functions.

Mandatory Clearance Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya by submitting valid and current copies of the following:

  • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  • Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
  • Clearance Certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
  • Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) Report.
