CHAK is a technical support organization for member church health facilities, universities, and Medical Training Colleges (MTCs). In 2023, CHAK established CHAK Business Services Limited (CBSL), a social enterprise aimed at diversifying revenue streams while creating sustainable business solutions that contribute to community wellbeing. 1. Business Development Intern

Reporting to: Business Development Lead

Duty Station: CHAK Secretariat, Nairobi

Job Summary

The Business Development Intern will provide administrative, coordination, and operational support to the Business Development Department to facilitate the successful implementation of business development and partnership initiatives.

The successful candidate will assist in maintaining departmental records and databases, coordinating meetings and events, supporting partner engagement processes, preparing presentations and documentation, monitoring partnership activities, and contributing to the development of partner success stories.

This internship offers valuable exposure to partnership management, organizational development, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and business development operations within a leading healthcare support organization.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The Business Development Intern will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support to facilitate the daily operations of the Business Development Department.
  • Organizing and maintaining departmental files, records, and documentation.
  • Managing departmental communication, including responding to emails, handling incoming calls, and receiving visitors.
  • Supporting the preparation of presentations and other departmental documentation.
  • Assisting in the coordination and organization of departmental meetings.
  • Taking meeting minutes and documenting discussions.
  • Following up on agreed action points arising from business development initiatives.
  • Supporting partner due diligence processes.
  • Assisting in drafting partnership-related documentation.
  • Tracking partnership activities through partnership trackers and implementation matrices.
  • Developing partner success stories for sharing with the communications team.
  • Contributing to the planning and coordination of departmental events and activities.
  • Maintaining and updating business development files, tools, and partner databases.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, International Relations, Development Studies, or Public Health.
  • Understanding of project management, partnerships, or program development.

Required Competencies

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data and present compelling business cases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with business intelligence or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools will be an added advantage.
