Temporary Position – Machine Learning (ML)/Data Engineer

APHRC is currently seeking a Machine Learning/Data Engineer for a six-month temporary position. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing, integrating, and optimizing AI-powered applications within the organization’s research and data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement machine learning pipelines to support AI research and data analytics projects.
- Integrate third-party machine learning models and large language model (LLM) APIs into existing platforms to enhance automated decision-making and analytics.
- Ensure robust data preprocessing, feature engineering, and transformation for model training and evaluation.
- Optimize model performance and ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and explainability of machine learning outputs.
- Collaborate with software developers and data scientists to align AI systems with user requirements and program goals.
- Monitor model deployment in live environments, track usage metrics, and iterate models based on performance outcomes.
- Maintain data pipelines and tools for model versioning, validation, and testing.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, performance reports, and peer-reviewed outputs stemming from AI applications.
- Advocate for ethical AI practices and transparency in data use within the research domain.
