Job Description
The Information Systems Librarian will be responsible for managing and developing the library’s information systems, digital resources, and technological infrastructure. The role involves ensuring efficient access to electronic databases, maintaining the library management system, and supporting both staff and students in utilizing digital learning resources effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the library’s integrated management systems, ensuring functionality, accessibility, and security of information resources.
- Maintain and upgrade library software, digital databases, and electronic resource subscriptions in line with institutional needs.
- Coordinate the cataloguing and classification of print and electronic materials according to international library standards.
- Provide technical support for digital library systems, including troubleshooting access issues for users.
- Facilitate the integration of emerging technologies into library services to enhance research and learning experiences.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops for students and staff on the use of online databases, e-journals, and research tools.
