INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES – 2026/2027

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) invites applications for its 2026/2027 Internship Programme. This one-year programme offers young Kenyan graduates the opportunity to gain practical, on-the-job experience in line with the Government’s Youth Development Initiative, with placements available at the Head Office and branches across the country.

The National Social Security Fund is a leading social security provider in the retirement benefits sector, with a branch network across the country.

The Fund intends to run the above-referred programme to enable youths to gain practical, on-the-job experience for a period of one (1) year. This is in line with the Government Youth Initiative to develop a pool of young talent for the Kenyan labour market.

The Fund hereby invites applications from suitable Kenyan youths for the Internship Opportunities for FY 2026/2027, available at its Head Office and branches countrywide.

Basic Requirements

Suitable candidates must:

  1. Be in possession of a first degree or diploma from an accredited institution. The candidate must have graduated and be in possession of the certificate.
  2. Be an unemployed Kenyan youth aged between 20 and 34 years.
  3. Have graduated within the last five (5) years from the closing date of this internship advertisement.
  4. Provide a recommendation/reference letter from the institution attended.
  5. Not have undertaken any other internship programme or been exposed to work experience since graduation.
  6. Be available for the entire internship duration of one (1) year.

Personal Attributes

Suitable candidates must:

  1. Be persons of high integrity.
  2. Be goal-oriented, dynamic, self-driven and diligent.
  3. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Be proficient in ICT skills.
  5. Be team players.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities shall be assigned by the respective Heads of Department/Supervisors upon appointment.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates who meet the requirements outlined above should submit their applications online using the application link provided. Applicants should create and complete their profile, then upload the following documents:

  1. Copy of Degree/Diploma certificate
  2. Application letter
  3. CV
  4. Copy of ID
  5. Recommendation letter

All applications must be submitted online on or before close of business on Friday, 22nd May 2026.

Incomplete or hard copy applications shall not be considered.

Important Information

Applicants are requested to note the following:

  1. The Fund does not guarantee employment after completion of the internship programme.
  2. Successful candidates will be required to complete the one (1) year internship without a break to fully benefit from the objectives of the programme.
  3. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
